Some landscapes don't just sit in the memory, they insist on being felt. Earth Remembers is a response to Almscliffe Crag, the ancient gritstone outcrop that rises defiantly from the Yorkshire plain, shaped by forces older than language.
Bold gestural strokes in gold, moss green, and bruised violet describe the rock's layered geology, while raw black lines drip across the surface like fissures in the earth itself; marks of time, weather, and endurance. A wash of open sky breathes behind the mass, holding tension between weight and lightness, ancient and alive.
This is not a painting of a place. It is a painting of what a place remembers.
