Inspired by the extraordinary land sculpture of Northumberlandia, the largest human landform figure in the world, this work traces the undulating contours of raised levels that rise and fall across the Northumberland landscape with a quiet, elemental power.

There is structure here, yet immense freedom: the circular lines of the human female figure emerge from the earth itself, monumental and tender at once. The eye is drawn along her form, through sweeping curves and layered terrain, discovering new detail at every level.

The palette is rich and deeply considered: warm ochres, mossy greens, shadowed purples, and the cool luminosity of a northern sky. Each layer of paint holds its own curiosity, built up slowly, with texture and intention, inviting the viewer to look closer, to linger, to find something new each time.
