Palette Sunshine and Sea

The sea has always been a painter's companion, restless, layered, never quite the same colour twice. Palette Sunshine and Sea brings those two worlds together: the ocean as canvas, the canvas as ocean, each layer of paint echoing the shifting depths and surfaces of water caught in golden light.

Painted instinctively in acrylic, this piece was built the way the sea builds itself, gradually, with weight and intention. Paint was applied thickly, palette knife and brush working together to create real, tactile texture that rises from the surface. You can feel the movement in it. Layer upon layer was added, each one shifting the tone and depth of what came before, the composition growing richer and more complex with every pass.

Run your eye across it and you'll find new things, ridges of colour, buried marks, the trace of decisions made in the moment. This is not a flat image of the sea. It is something closer to the real thing: dimensional, alive, and full of light.
