A rift is a break, a split in the surface of something that seemed solid. But it is also where light gets in. Where something new begins. Rift was painted from that tension: the moment of fracture and the possibility it opens up, held together on a single canvas.
This piece was made with abandon and intention in equal measure. Spray paints were laid down first, bold, immediate, filling the canvas with raw energy and colour. Acrylics followed, applied thickly and worked back, building texture and depth. Inks were introduced, bleeding and flowing where the water carried them, creating unpredictable trails and washes that no brush could replicate. Water was used generously throughout, diluting, dispersing, letting gravity and chance become part of the composition. The result is a surface alive with movement: layers that shift and reveal, edges that blur and break, a painting that feels as dynamic as the moment it was made.
